Valentinas Masalskis

Valentinas Masalskis (born in 1954 in Kaunas). Theatre and cinema actor, stage director. Studied the Art of Acting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. In 1976-1992, he worked in the State Academic Drama Theatre in Kaunas, later became a free artist. In 1996 he was awarded the National Award. Played approximately 100 roles in theatre and cinema in Lithuania and abroad. Since 2008 he has been working at Klaipėda  University, is a professor at the Theatre Department. In 2010, together with his students, he founded “trupe p.s.”, which after two years was reorganized into Public Institution Klaipėda Youth Theatre, he is a stage director of the latter and one of the actors. V. Masalskis is recognized as one of the prodigies of the Lithuanian theatre, creating his own theatre and theory. Lives and works in Klaipėda.
