Vassily Kolesnik (1986) is a journalist. Graduated from the “local school, followed by the economic faculty of the local university”. Followed a program in cultural journalism at the PRO ARTE institute. After graduation from the university Vassily worked for a radio station – “I don’t know why I ever studied at the economic faculty”. “I didn’t make a good radio presenter neither, but I learnt how to make interviews and later got employed by an entertainment magazine, as I only wanted to write about music. Almost immediately I met with Robin Guthrie from my favorite group Cocteau Twins and I thought that my career of a music journalist is going quite well”. Having form a creative duo with a photographer Alexander Lyubin, Vassily, the essayist, took part in the project “Telling the Baltic” (2012-2013) which is an experimental platform for cooperation between those who are engaged in art in their everyday practice and those whose life is closely connected to the sea.
