Evgeny Umansky (1961) is an artist and curator, Art Director of the Baltic Branch of the National Centre for Contemporary Arts. Graduated from the Leningrad State Hydrometeorological Institute. Evgeny has been engaged in photography professionally since 1986. In his author projects of the 1990s he paid special attention to “various technological means of creating art works”, among them mixed techniques, intersection of traditional photography and serigraphy, digital processing and various technology-related forms of presenting a photographic image. Evgeny is working with photography, video, installation, public art. Member and co-founder of an art group “San Donato”. Evgeny participated in a wide range of Russian and international art exhibitions and projects.
