Władysław Jackiewicz (born 1924, Podbrodzie): graduate from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Plastic Arts in Sopot. A pedagogue connected with the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk where he was dean, deputy vice chancellor and vice chancellor. Holder of various awards and distinctions granted during the 43rd Biennale in Venice, among other events. He is considered one of the most outstanding Polish contemporary painters and icons of the Gdańsk artistic circles. In his works, he combines experiences of old and contemporary art. Mainly known for his subtly erotic images of sophisticated colors, formally oscillating on the border of figurative painting and abstraction.
