Andrzej Karmasz (born 1976, Gdańsk): Graduate from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk where he currently works as an assistant lecturer. The scholarship in Japan’s Joshibi University of Art and Design and his travels to Asia and New Zealand have had an enormous influence upon his works. A visual artist, author of images and photography. Mainly known for his cycle of self-portraits in which he plays roles of women from distant cultures. In his works, he touches upon notions connected with feminization of the male body and the gender philosophy. He talks about the processes of transformation and cultural interpenetration.
